Hannah Barrington, MC, RN, CCC
Registered Nurse and Psychotherapist
As a dedicated psychotherapist specializing in children and teens, Hannah is devoted to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people. With over two decades of experience building capacity as a clinical counsellor and registered nurse, she brings a compassionate and evidence-based approach to her practice.
In her previous job at a busy pediatric clinic, she found much more of her time was being spent addressing patients’ mental health concerns during appointments, so she went back to school to hone her therapy skills. Hannah holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Counselling which equip her with the knowledge and skills to address a wide range of psychological issues. Her practice is centred on creating a safe and nurturing environment where children and teens feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Hannah has expertise in working with neurodivergent children and adolescents. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and behavioural disorders, using a variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and play therapy, among others. Through close collaboration with families, she establishes a practical and tailored treatment plan for each individual.
Hannah is deeply committed to ongoing professional development and stays current with research and best practices in child and adolescent psychotherapy. Her mission is to help young people build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve their fullest potential in life.
